Hello!
Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day weekend! For this week's blog post, I wanted to talk about Michael's transition to using Skype. As I have mentioned in previous posts, we've always been working on alleviating Michael's stress over being away from me. As many of us aren't very favorable of change, Michael is the same way, but expresses it even more than we do.
When I first left home to attend school at UCSD, Michael really struggled with accustoming to having me away from home the first year. This year he's been doing better, but I look forward to finding ways to make it easier for Michael. In an earlier post I've talked about his advancements with using the phone, and now we're advancing to use Skype.
The first time we Skyped in March, Michael was really interested to see how it worked, and how I was talking to him on the computer screen. Link to video:

Whenever we tried Skyping again afterwards, Michael kept on running away from the computer, and wasn't interested at all. However, when we tried it again yesterday, he did much better! He was a little upset that I was on the computer and not directly with him, but I'm excited nonetheless that it's another method to communicate with him. Apparently he's been doing great Skyping with our family members from Poland who he hasn't met before, so I'm happy to know that he has been getting used to it, and hope it'll help with me being away from home.
As always, if you have any questions/comments/suggestions, feel free to submit a contact form :)
