Hello everyone!
Yesterday my mom and brother came to visit, and we had a great time at La Jolla Shores. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and thanks to the Superbowl, there were hardly any people at the beach! Truly a perfect combination for Michael, and he had a great time doing what he loves best-- staring at the waves.
Since it had been the first time that I'd seen him the last couple of weeks, at first he didn't want to walk into my apartment or even look at me. But after a few seconds he decided to walk in, and after a few minutes he finally decided that he could acknowledge my presence and give me a hug. Once we got to the beach, Michael was ecstatic, yet really soothed by the water. It's incredible to see how mesmerized he is while watching the waves. We went on a little stroll, and Michael didn't even want to take his eyes off of the water for a second to take pictures.
After hanging out by the water for about 30-45 minutes, we decided to get some tea and dessert at Brick & Bell (highly recommend), and it took forever to get Michael to walk away from the water. We all shared a scone and Michael behaved really really well while in the cafe. It was especially helpful that the cafe was very mellow and only had another woman studying in it, so Michael loved the environment. Afterwards we walked back to the beach to let Michael say goodbye to the ocean. Overall, it was a very relaxing and great time :)
